69 News welcomes clear, carefully framed proposals about how news is reported, presented, distributed and read. Send a pitch through the Contact page rather than submitting a finished article without prior agreement.
What we welcome
We consider explanatory essays, format comparisons, media-history pieces and practical reading approaches that help a general audience understand a specific part of the news. A proposal should be self-contained and useful beyond a single news cycle.
What makes a strong pitch
State the question your piece will answer, its central idea, the reader it serves and why the subject merits an article. Include the points you would explain and the material you expect to rely on. Keep the proposal focused; a broad subject is easier to assess when narrowed to one clear question.
Accuracy and voice
Use plain language, define specialist terms and separate verifiable facts from interpretation. Avoid unsupported claims, promotional copy and framing that treats a complex subject as settled when it is not. Do not include confidential information or material you are not entitled to share.
How to send it
Send proposals through the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. A pitch is a proposal, not a guarantee of publication; any scope, timing or terms would need to be agreed before work begins.
